RUN FOR ZION IS BACK AND YOU CAN BE PART OF IT!

We are excited that Israel has lifted all COVID related travel restrictions.  As of this month, no more tests will be required upon arrival in Israel, only one before departure to Israel for non-Israelis.  No COVID vaccines are required. Pending a visa, tourists who are eligible to come to Israel can do so.  YAY!

Take a look at the special program we’re planning and register to be part of it.  In order to be accessible to the greatest number of people, the base trip is only five days.  However we are encouraging all individuals and ministry partners to add at least a few days to tour, see more sites, and interact.  Run for Zion is more than just a tour, it’s a service and pilgrimage experience. You’ll get off the bus and actually connect with the people as you partner with us and bless the Land and the people.  We look forward to you joining us. COME RUN FOR ZION AND BLESS ISRAEL WITH EVERY STEP.

Please contact us for details about extension or upgrading. The itinerary is subject to change, but the basic package from March 14-20, 2023 is as follows:

March 14 – DEPARTURE FOR ISRAEL
For those enjoying the basic tour, your journey begins when you depart the USA on your overnight international flight.

March 15 – ARRIVAL IN ISRAEL
Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, you will be greeted by our representative (for group flight participants) and transferred to your hotel for a briefing, welcome dinner, introductions and a good night’s rest.

March 16 – GO UP TO JERUSALEM
We check out of our hotel and drive to Jerusalem.  Visit Yad Vashem, the national Holocaust memorial and museum. Reflect on the agony of the cross at Gordon’s Calvary and celebrate the joy of the resurrection at the Garden Tomb.  We will register for the marathon at the huge expo in which tens of thousands of others will be passing through before checking into our Jerusalem hotel and prepare for tomorrow's event - Run for Zion!  A group dinner will include a pre-race pasta dinner to give you the physical energy to take on the race the next morning, and be an inspirational evening including speakers to zoom in on the significance of the race and being in Jerusalem as well. You’ll get a good night's rest before the big day tomorrow!

March 17 – RUN FOR ZION in JERUSALEM
You’ll have an early breakfast depending on the time of your race, and then walk with easy access to the starting point of the marathon.  People from all over the world will be involved in participating in this amazing event, blessing Israel with every step.  After completing the course, you’ll have the afternoon at leisure (optional tours may be offered), and return to the hotel to welcome the Sabbath.  You’ll join a traditional Shabbat dinner as we usher in the day of rest together, and Bible study at the hotel.
Dead Sea
March 18 – MASADA, DEAD SEA, and JORDAN RIVER (Q'SAR el YAHUD)
You’ll leave early to travel south to Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress of Herod the Great, famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans from 70-73AD. Take the cable car to the top and peer down at the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below, and learn about the history of the Jewish rebels who held out until the last minute.  Then visit the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth and have the opportunity to float in the salt and mineral laden waters.  Finally, on the way back to Jerusalem you’ll visit the Jordan River, Q'sar el Yahud where the Jordan River flows into the Dead Sea for a baptismal service before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.  Evening free to explore Jerusalem.

March 19 – JERUSALEM (OLD CITY)
We will start off with worship together followed by a visit the Davidson's Center where 2,000 years of history have been uncovered in its excavations.  The southern steps lead into the Temple compound from the southern entrance and undoubtedly were used by Jesus during HIs visits to Jerusalem.  You will also have an opportunity to pray at the Western Wall before exploring the Old City including the Jewish and Christian Quarters.  See shops using locations that date back to the Roman era, and view lifestyles that have been preserved for centuries.  Follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchure, another possible location of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.  Gala farewell dinner with speaker at the hotel and preparation for our return flight home.

March 20 – SHALOM
This morning we say Shalom, goodbye. After an early breakfast, participants departing will head to the airport with a transformed faith, exhilarated at having been able to be a tangible blessing in and to Israel, filled with memories to last a lifetime!  Those extending will depart for their destinations.  Shalom also means hello, so we say goodbye, until we can welcome you again.

Because it’s important to show you where the money is going that you’ve helped to raise through the crowd funding program, throughout the Run for Zion program you’ll meet, hear from and interact with people and organizations that are representing where the money is going and see and feel how we are blessing Israel.  These will be interwoven over meals, on the bus, and at our events throughout.  We want you to know that the money is going to good causes, and be able to relate that to everyone who sponsors you. And we pray that just as you bless Israel, you will continue to be the beneficiary of God’s infinite blessings as promised in Genesis 12:3.
